My great-great-grandfather, James, was an Irish farmer who sought
the fertile ground of a new land. He came to America with nothing
but his good name and a desire to build a virtuous life. He was
known for his strong sense of integrity and also for being a bit
stubborn. James raised both family and cattle on land in the
Midwest, until the Great Depression took its toll and the land
was lost. New honor was found though, as my grandfather and
father went on to lead distinguished careers serving in the
military. I hope I’m able to make my mark in my
family’s legacy through my art, philanthropy and life.
Everyday I move closer to achieving my dreams; with an eye on the
past, I remember the sacrifices and struggles my family has
overcome.
