(As told by Hilary, seen here with daughter, Taylor) My
grandparents came from Russia and Germany to Ellis Island as
result of social conflict... World War II was the backdrop of
their drama. My daughter Taylor shares in my history, as well as
in her father's Italian ancestors' who came to Ellis Island at
the same time for the same reason. I recently completed a film
called Children of Men. The film deals with the issues of
equality and the rights of man, regardless of race or creed,
ideology or religion. My heritage gave life to this drama... a
drama made more meaningful as a result of Ellis Island.
