My grandfather, Nathan, was a man with big dreams who hailed from
a small town. From his native Chernobyl, Russia, he traveled to
Hamburg, Germany. The same day he set sail for Ellis Island was
the day he saw the ocean for the very first time. Nathan came to
America to make shoes and be free. He was known as a great
entrepreneur, but the best deal he ever made was the one to
become an American citizen. I honor his legacy, which was built
on hard work and integrity. Today, I carry on the tradition of
leading the business my family founded, as President & CEO of The
Timberland Company.
