(As told by Donna, seen here with daughter, Ally) When he was
fourteen years old, my grandfather, Pietro, won a lottery ticket
in his hometown of Palermo, Sicily, taking him from a life of
poverty to the land of opportunity - America. On his voyage to
Ellis Island, young Pietro met Dominica, who he would later
marry. They lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and raised nine
children, including my father Max. Our family has, and will
forever be, lucky in love. I honor their legacy, knowing that my
daughter and I will forever cherish this American love story.
