My paternal grandfather and maternal great grandmother both came
through Ellis Island. In fact, my paternal grandfather helped
build the New York subway system — one of first in the
world. Conviction and courage marked my family’s journey
and continue to shape my view of life, love and my obligation to
a country I credit for so much of my success.
