My father came here from Sweden as a boy in 1902, went on to serve in the army in WW1 as a bugler in the battle of Verdun, during WW2 as a
guard at an army base in Stapleton, Staten Island. He was very active in veterans affairs and a wonderful husband and father. Everyone that knew him loved him. It all began with his entry at Ellis Island!
