My great-grand parents came from Ireland during the potato famine. They were Owen and Bridget Coulahan Mullen. They had many children but my grandfather, Capt. Garry Owen Mullen served New Orleans as a policeman until his untimely death at age 44 after being shot in the line of duty. His daughter, my mother Thelma, went on to have 10 children that added to the rich culture that is New Orleans.
