I too came through Ellis Island from Nurnberg, Germany when I was four years old. I am now 57. I came over with my mom and older brother. He was eight. I have never been back and would like to return some some day.

Ellis Island is well known in my family. My father worked on the island for the Immigration and Naturalization service processing new imigrants in the1940's. At the same time, my mother was a telephone operator on the island. They met, fell in love and married in 1946. So our roots certainly began on Ellis Island and we have been proud to share this with others over the years.
